Creativity is stepping and thinking "outside of the box." Being "outside the box" is a term that everyone says, but what does it really mean? "Outside of the box" is being outside of the place that you are used to seeing and are familiar with. You start to "step" outside of the box when you try something that is out of your comfort zone or not predictable. Something that is creative is unique in its own way. When something is unique it is very specific to that person. STEM pushes for creativity because when you leave high school and college and start a career, the creativity that you used, will be what those around will remember. STEM wants their students to be remembered not forgotten. I grew the most in this quality in the This I Believe project. I wasn't used to self reflection to find my core belief. To me, this was me "stepping out of the box" in this project.
